Corrosion Innovation Awards. The global corrosion control community submitted a near-record nomination total for the Materials Performance (MP) 2021 Corrosion Innovation of the Year Awards program, for which 40 finalists were announced. The complete list of 2021 finalists can be accessed here, along with full descriptions of each innovation. Winners will be selected in the coming weeks by a panel of corrosion-control experts and recognized at the CORROSION 2021 Virtual Conference & Expo, to be held from April 19-30, 2021. QF-Compact. To be considered a corrosion innovation, nominated projects must show the potential for a significant positive impact in corrosion control. P-Laser created the QF-Compact to help operators when cleaning corroded surfaces. No matter how difficult it is to reach the part, the QF-Compact will find a way to get it cleaned, without injuring (back problems) the operator during the process. A lot of the products on the market today are large and heavy and will require extra tools (e.g. forklifts or winches) to move the system to the desired place. The QF-Compact can be taken with you, almost everywhere you go. System optimisation. We're doing a collaboration with Flanders Make to improve the ease of use of our systems. Last week we explained the basics of laser cleaning to them. Flanders Make Symposium.
